In the meantime, sold a shelf, painted over the history on my walls (story about that later), and did an apt showing.

So, Macklemore, you just made thrifting fun again.  FACT - A $50 t-shirt is getting swindled.

In this phase of moving, I have a new appreciation for used items.  Not only can I sell mine, but when I start over in Denver, best believe I will be hitting your:

Goodwills
Buffalo Exchanges
Plato's Closets
Salvation Armys
Craigslist
etc.

Snow Pains

Snow has frozen my progress.  Planned trip to sell the things I've held onto - cancelled.  So they sit in boxes next to my TV, staring me in the face.  The rest of it sits beneath the white blanket outside in a cold steel dumpster.  Truth be told I almost filled half of the damn thing.

There is one more bag....
A blue one.  Fitting, since the things inside of it make my insides that color.  Even so, I can't part with them.  Not yet.  Just like those troublesome memories that make this place colder than the frozen things outside my window.

I should feel better.  I should feel cleansed.  I should feel like this whole thing is an adventure.

But I don't.  I'm angry.  As I purge everything from my home, I remember how I used to believe I had everything.  A great job.  A future.  A home.  A love I thought was true.  Now I have none of it.  I'm starting over, from the absolute bottom.

Believing now as I did when I was a child (that everything will turn out) I can't help but wonder what really will happen to me now.

The snow has not stopped.

Dark Roast

And so we begin, with a Starbucks Tall Dark Roast, and a quick blog.  Blue is a good power color for a suit.  Makes my eyes pop.  I'm nervous.  What can one expect from a full day job shadow as a second interview?  I pray whoever I'm paired with has a personality as well as a solid account.  

I have to be there in five minutes.   Makes me relish the fact my coffee is too hot to even drink.  Guess it will wait in my car for the 2 hour drive home.  And subsequent 3 hour drive to Rock Springs.  Work hard today...gonna play hard tonight.  

Remember job hunters, don't stress too much.  It could always be worse.  You could be dead.

And the beat goes on

Tomorrow is step two in this whole interview phase.  Stress levels are through the roof, but thanks to the Davis family I avoid falling off the cliff of second-guessings.  They have given me food, shelter, and peace of mind.  One day I am going to repay them 10 fold.  That's what you do to the people who help you through this stuff.  Those of you going through this process, if you are lucky enough to have people support you like this, do not take it for granted.  Appreciate and be thankful every second.

Had to get that out.

Next point...when choosing between meeting new friends and hitting bars or getting a good nights sleep before a full day of job shadowing...get the rest!  If the newbs are people worth keeping in your life, they will take a raincheck.

Three, remember to have fun while going through the growing pains of change and transplantation.  Feeling like everything is daunting and hopeless?  Buck up butter cup!  Pull that tight lip into a smile and just be glad you are alive.  It will all work out.  Go see a movie...I recommend Silver Lining.  Katniss needs some toilet paper for that potty mouth, and every bit of it is welcomed.

Finally, just act like everything is going to work out and it will.  Believe in yourself and your ability to create your own reality.  Thoughts are things.  Send those flying monkeys out to do your bidding!  I will have this job because I can do anything.  I truly believe that.

Full moon tonight.  I'm gonna go spend some time there on the way to Nod.  Sleep well all!

Dreaming about my first true love.   Nightmare?  It didn't feel that way.  Are we so emotionally tied to people that we can never forget them?  Do I want to forget him?  I think I just want him to not hate me so much.  This time, this dream, he didn't.  We made up.  We were friends.  I felt....love.

Ugh.  Now I have to go about my whole day fighting those memories.  Screw you dreams.

I blame the alcohol, pain pills, and bacon wrapped meatloaf.

There's a fire and I'm in!

Denver is on fire!  

It's buuuuurning with opportunity.  Originally I did not feel this way.  After driving 2 hours for a 10 minute interview...I felt cold and defeated.  Not to mention the smoggy haze over downtown central was ominous.  

Then came Miss 307.  She is just like the Statue of Liberty, holding that torch like a magnificent glowing red cup of optimism.  Bring me your tired, your poor, and your sober!

Then it came...like an answered prayer.  One very positive and welcomed phone call for a second interview.  Not just an interview mind you.  A full day of shadowing another professional account manager in the field.  Friday.  9:15.  Be there or be...well...jobless.  

So, at dinner we make plans.  Schemers we are.  Miss 307 and I plan our apt, keeping in mind our third party, Sgt. Green - a hot muscle stud CPA with a heart of gold from my past and present.  It will be old world but industrial too, with sick views of down town center.  If you are lucky enough, you will get the invite from one of us.  XOXO
